domli was formed with a clear purpose
To do better by ourselves, our customers and our planet.
Our mission is simple: to bring the beauty of nature into your home with our sustainably sourced, high-quality solid wood products.
Even though our roots are still new, our experience certainly isnβt. Our founders have decades of experience in both online retail and timber products, and it was this that encouraged us to create the domli brand and start a whole new kind of family tree.
Products designed to last a lifetime
Just as quality ingredients make exceptional food, we believe quality materials make exceptional products.
We work with Europeβs top manufacturers (many of whom you can find right here in the UK), and only supply sustainably sourced products with full timber traceability. So if you ever wake up one morning and want to find out precisely where the wood from your domli piece of furniture comes from, weβd be able to tell you. Weβre a riot at dinner parties, we can tell you.
When you look a little bit deeper at our products, you wonβt find any throwaway materials or unnecessarily processed components here. Our pieces age gracefully and are designed to remain in tip-top condition for years to come.
Of course, we understand that all things can look a little tired after time. (Including our team. Itβs why we drink so much coffee.) The beauty of each piece of domli furniture is that you can refinish it whenever you like, with our natural, biodegradable oil. No harsh chemicals in our homes, or yours.
Sustainability: for now, and the future
What else should you know about our team? We know that itβs easy for brands to say that theyβre sustainable/eco-friendly/tree-hugging/[insert suitable buzzword here]. But itβs what theyβre doing about it that interests us.
We are always looking at ways to improve our responsible business policy.Β
Our product design policy is to aim for zero product wastage, so we manufacture all wooden products using timber from sustainable sources with full traceability and care deeply about the longevity of our products. By using automation, smart working and hybrid practices, we ensure our entire business model is sustainable from the outset and our footprint remains small.
Going one step further
In addition to our sustainable sourcing programme, in partnership with Ecologi, we also plant one tree for every order placed. We believe that tree-planting schemes should be integral to any modern, sustainable business, which is why we have already funded the planting of more than 10,000 trees in 2023 and offset more than 10 tonnes of CO2 across two projects.Β
But our efforts donβt stop there. Weβre also donating 1% of total revenue from domli.co.uk in 2023 towards Climate-Positive projects, as voted by you, and weβre constantly on the lookout for new ways to improve our responsible business policy.Β
