A clear purpose, from the start
domli began with a simple idea: bring beautifully made, responsibly sourced solid wood furniture into more homes - without the markups, the marketing noise, or the compromise on craft.
Our founders bring decades of experience in online retail and timber. That foundation shapes how we choose materials, how we work with our makers, and how we look after every order from start to finish.
It's why we focus on the essentials: quality materials, considered design, dependable service.
Products designed to last a lifetime
Quality materials make quality furniture. We work with leading European manufacturers - many here in the UK - and only supply timber with full traceability back to its source.
If you ever want to know where the wood in your domli piece came from, we can tell you.
You won't find throwaway components or unnecessarily processed materials in our range. Our pieces are designed to age gracefully, with grain and finishes that look better over time, not worse.
When a piece does need a refresh, caring for the product is easy - and some may say therapeutic. A coat of our natural, biodegradable oil restores the surface without harsh chemicals - in our workshop, or in your home. Not throwaway, and better for the environment. And when the time does eventually come to part with your furniture, the majority of what we sell is recyclable.
Sustainability, taken seriously
It's easy for a brand to say it cares about sustainability. We'd rather show what we do.
Our timber comes from responsibly managed sources with full traceability. Our product design aims for zero waste - offcuts are repurposed into smaller pieces, and anything left becomes fuel in our biomass burner, which heats our warehouse. Our accessories are made from reclaimed or recyclable materials wherever we can specify them. Our finishes are natural and biodegradable.
We review and improve this approach each year. As we grow, we aim to keep our footprint small, by design.
Our approach to sustainability is simple: use solid wood responsibly, minimise waste, and make products designed to last - so they don't need replacing.
Going one step further
Since 2023, we've partnered with Ecologi to support verified climate projects, including global tree-planting initiatives. Together with our community of customers, we fund the planting of one tree for every order placed. This has helped fund the planting of more than 44,000 trees so far.
Each year, we also donate a portion of our profits to climate-positive projects, chosen by the people who shop with us. To date, this has helped avoid 145 tonnes of CO2e and remove a further 5 tonnes through global projects. It's also helped restore more than 351m² of wildflowers, wetlands, and wildlife habitats here in the UK.
