Responsibly sourced solid wood

Wood is the primary material in everything we make. Managed responsibly, it's a renewable resource - and we only purchase timber from sources with established replanting programmes and full certification.

We work closely with our suppliers to maintain traceability from forest to finished piece. If you ever want to know where the wood in your domli furniture came from, we can tell you.

Zero waste, by design

Our product design policy aims for zero product wastage.

Larger pieces that are returned or unsuitable are repurposed into smaller items. Anything left is used as fuel in our biomass burner, which heats our warehouse. Other materials are recycled wherever possible.

Our accessory ranges - shelf brackets, legs, and fixings - are made from reclaimed or recyclable materials wherever we can specify them.

To finish most of our products, we use a natural, biodegradable oil. No harsh chemicals - in our workshop, or in your home.

Our partnership with Ecologi

In 2023, we partnered with Ecologi to formalise the climate work we already cared about. Their mission is to help businesses take meaningful, measurable action on climate and nature, which aligns with our values.

Together with our customers, we've funded the planting of more than 45,000 trees through Ecologi to date.

For every order placed, we fund the planting of one tree through Ecologi.

It's a small commitment made by us, and a meaningful one when added up across our community of customers. The more our community grows, the larger the impact.

Climate-positive projects, chosen by our community

Each year, we donate a portion of our profits to climate-positive projects. The community of customers and subscribers choose which projects we support.

Since 2023, that has helped avoid 145 tonnes of CO2e and remove a further 5 tonnes through global projects.
It's also helped restore more than 350m² of wildflowers, wetlands, and wildlife habitats here in the UK as part of the UK Nature Fund. Thanks to the domli community, this initiative has truly blossomed.

Building for the long term

We're currently building our own business park and design centre, designed around sustainability and energy efficiency from the ground up.

The site uses environmentally considered building materials, with energy drawn from renewable sources including biomass, solar, and rainwater harvesting. It's balanced with the same proportion of green space as built footprint, including an attenuation pond, planting, and habitat areas.

Construction is well underway, and we look forward to moving in later this year.

As we scale, we plan to introduce low-carbon deliveries through our own local fleet, with route-optimisation software to reduce emissions and improve efficiency.

A community-built effort

None of this works without the people who shop with us. Every tree planted, every project funded, every tonne of CO2 offset has come from a customer choosing solid wood furniture, designed and made responsibly, in place of something shorter-lived.

We're grateful for that. And we'll keep looking for ways to do more.
