Solid Oak Desktop - 40mm

Yes - we offer a cut-to-size service on most desktops. Cuts start at £15 for the first cut, with each additional cut at £10. Some bespoke services such as tapered cuts or radius corners are priced differently. Get in touch for a quote, or view full details on our bespoke page.

Our oak solid wood desktops come in two thicknesses: 27mm and 40mm.

Both are solid oak - the difference is purely in the thickness of the desktop. The 27mm has a lighter, more slender profile; the 40mm gives a more substantial, solid feel. The choice comes down to the look and weight you prefer for your space.

Our desktops are available pre-oiled with Habiol Wood Oil, a natural, biological finish that protects the timber and is ready to use on arrival. If you'd prefer to apply your own finish, we also offer a sanded (unfinished) option - just note that sanded desktops should be oiled before use to prevent the timber from bowing or absorbing moisture.

Most desktops are delivered the next working day when ordered before 12pm Monday to Friday. Please note that the 1200 x 800 x 40mm, 1500 x 600 x 40mm, and 1500 x 800 x 40mm sizes require 2-3 working days and are delivered with a two-person service. You'll receive an email confirmation with tracking once dispatched - you can also track your order at any time using your order number and email. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout based on the items in your order. Additional surcharges may apply to some areas, including the Scottish Highlands and offshore islands.

This product is a desktop sold as a surface only - legs are not included. You can add a compatible leg set to your order, but if you're looking for a complete desk, our desk sets are the most cost-effective way to buy and come with the top pre-drilled for easy assembly.

The desktop attaches to a desk frame via pilot holes drilled into the underside of the top. If you're purchasing one of our desk sets, the top comes pre-drilled for the included legs. If you're fitting to your own frame or leg set, you'll need to drill the fixing holes yourself to match your frame's mounting points.

Yes - cable holes can be added to most desktops at £25 each. We offer a standard 60mm diameter, with 50mm also available. Get in touch before ordering and we'll add this to your order.

Managed responsibly, it's a renewable resource - and we only work with suppliers who have established replanting programmes and full chain-of-custody certification. We work closely with our suppliers to maintain traceability from forest to finished piece.
