Solid Oak Worktop

Yes - we offer a cut-to-size service on most worktops. Cuts start at £15 for the first cut, with each additional cut at £10. Some bespoke services such as tapered cuts or radius corners are priced differently. Full details and pricing can be found on our bespoke page.

Our oak worktops are available either pre-oiled or sanded and unfinished. Pre-oiled worktops are treated with Habiol before dispatch, giving the wood a richer tone and allowing for quicker installation, though we recommend applying an additional coat after fitting to ensure full protection - Osmo TopOil is fully compatible and easy to apply. Sanded worktops are supplied bare, ready for you to apply your own choice of oil, stain, or varnish. If you want more control over the final finish, sanded gives you that flexibility. If you'd prefer a practical, ready-to-protect option, pre-oiled suits most kitchens well.

Our listed sizes go up to 3000mm in length. If you need something outside our standard range, get in touch with our team and we'll let you know what's possible.

Worktops are delivered via a two-person delivery service and take 2-3 working days. You'll receive an email confirmation with tracking once dispatched - you can also track your order at any time using your order number and email. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout based on the items in your order. Additional surcharges may apply to some areas, including the Scottish Highlands and offshore islands.

To maintain a rich, protective finish, re-oil your worktop with Osmo TopOil every six months during the first year, then once annually after that. Both are solid oak - the difference is in the timber selection. Prime Oak is cut from higher-grade stock, with a more consistent grain pattern, tone, and fewer natural characteristics such as knots. Standard Oak carries more of the natural variation in colour and grain you'd expect from solid wood. Both are handcrafted to the same specification and finished the same way.

Yes - a small sample can help you compare tone and grain at home before committing. Each sample is cut from the same solid oak we use across our range and finished to the same specification. Samples are available to purchase online.

We offer a butt join service at £40, where we pre-cut the grooves so you can clamp and glue the two surfaces together on site. Full details are available on our bespoke page. We'd recommend getting in touch before ordering so we can confirm the right cut for your layout.

Staves are the individual strips of timber that are finger-jointed and bonded together to form a solid wood worktop. Narrower staves create a more uniform, patterned appearance; wider staves give a look closer to a solid plank, with fewer visible seams.

Wood is the primary material in everything we make. Managed responsibly, it's a renewable resource - and we only purchase timber from sources with established replanting programmes and full certification. We work closely with our suppliers to maintain traceability from forest to finished piece.
