The surface features rich grain patterns, knots, and tonal variations, creating a piece full of character. Valued for its durability and timeless appeal, oak provides a hardwearing surface suited to busy kitchens and everyday use while continuing to develop depth over time.

Oak kitchen worktops are available either pre-oiled for convenience or supplied sanded and unfinished for those who prefer to apply their own finish. Pre-oiled surfaces allow for quicker installation, though an additional coat should be applied after fitting to ensure full protection.

Wood worktops

Crafted from natural materials, our solid wood worktops are designed to age gracefully with the right care and attention.

To clean, use a mild solution of washing-up liquid and warm water, applied with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. If an antibacterial cleaner is required, we recommend Osmo Anti-Bac Wood Cleaner — gentle on wood yet effective against bacteria.

To maintain a rich, protective finish, re-oil your furniture with Osmo TopOil every six months during the first year, then once annually. For light surface marks, use the Wood Care Kit — Osmo.

If you've selected a raw or sanded finish, before installation, apply three coats of Osmo TopOil to all surfaces and four to five coats to the end grain and edges. This step is not required for pre-oiled worktops.

Can you cut the worktop to a custom size?

Yes - we offer a cut-to-size service on most worktops. Cuts start at £15 for the first cut, with each additional cut at £10. Some bespoke services such as tapered cuts or radius corners are priced differently. Full details and pricing can be found on our bespoke page.

What is the difference between sanded and pre-oiled?

Our oak worktops are available either pre-oiled or sanded and unfinished. Pre-oiled worktops are treated with Habiol before dispatch, giving the wood a richer tone and allowing for quicker installation, though we recommend applying an additional coat after fitting to ensure full protection - Osmo TopOil is fully compatible and easy to apply. Sanded worktops are supplied bare, ready for you to apply your own choice of oil, stain, or varnish. If you want more control over the final finish, sanded gives you that flexibility. If you'd prefer a practical, ready-to-protect option, pre-oiled suits most kitchens well.

I need a worktop larger than your standard sizes - what are my options?

Our listed sizes go up to 3000mm in length. If you need something outside our standard range, get in touch with our team and we'll let you know what's possible.

When will my worktop be delivered?

Worktops are delivered via a two-person delivery service and take 2-3 working days. You'll receive an email confirmation with tracking once dispatched - you can also track your order at any time using your order number and email. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout based on the items in your order. Additional surcharges may apply to some areas, including the Scottish Highlands and offshore islands.

How do I maintain and re-oil my worktop, and how often should I do it?

To maintain a rich, protective finish, re-oil your worktop with Osmo TopOil every six months during the first year, then once annually after that. For light surface marks, the Osmo Wood Care Kit is well suited for use between treatments. Full aftercare guidance can be found on our worktop aftercare page.

What is the difference between Standard Oak and Prime Oak?

Both are solid oak - the difference is in the timber selection. Prime Oak is cut from higher-grade stock, with a more consistent grain pattern, tone, and fewer natural characteristics such as knots. Standard Oak carries more of the natural variation in colour and grain you'd expect from solid wood. Both are handcrafted to the same specification and finished the same way.

Can I order a sample before buying?

Yes - a small sample can help you compare tone and grain at home before committing. Each sample is cut from the same solid oak we use across our range and finished to the same specification. Samples are available to purchase online.

How do I create an L-shape with two worktops?

We offer a butt join service at £40, where we pre-cut the grooves so you can clamp and glue the two surfaces together on site. Full details are available on our bespoke page. We'd recommend getting in touch before ordering so we can confirm the right cut for your layout.

What is a stave, and how does stave width affect the look of my worktop?

Staves are the individual strips of timber that are finger-jointed and bonded together to form a solid wood worktop. Narrower staves create a more uniform, patterned appearance; wider staves give a look closer to a solid plank, with fewer visible seams.

Where does the timber in your worktops come from?

Wood is the primary material in everything we make. Managed responsibly, it's a renewable resource - and we only purchase timber from sources with established replanting programmes and full certification. We work closely with our suppliers to maintain traceability from forest to finished piece. Beautiful piece of wood. Very happy with our purchase. We used it to create a large desk for both my husband and I to use.

I received my Domli Solid Oak worktop a few days ago and had it installed on Friday.

It is a beautiful high quality worktop which we are using as our main dining room table in our open plan kitchen.

We had the worktop produced to our bespoke specifications. This included a size of 1650mm in length & 960mm in width. Plus we had top & bottom Edge Profiling to three sides & 30mm Radius Corners on two sides.

The item has exceeded our expectations, and looks absolutely stunning in our kitchen!!!

A very special mention to Greg who made the whole process run like clockwork.

We had a slight issue with our first tabletop, but Greg quickly dealt with the problem and arranged for a replacement item to be sent.

He was extremely efficient, and even phoned to inform me that he had personally arranged for the new piece to enter production as quickly as possible.

Greg also sorted out a quick delivery date and was instrumental in arranging a suitable time for me to take delivery of the new piece.

A special mention to the couriers - David & his colleague who took great care in delivering the very heavy item.
