We would normally look to replace the worktop, but as that wasn't suitable and the worktops had already been installed, we offered a partial refund instead. We recommend checking the items in advance, so in the unlikely event of any issues, we can action a replacement.

Full stave solid oak may contain natural imperfections and knots, which are filled with a natural bio-based polyamide to ensure long-term stability. This is an intentional feature of the product design and not a defect, and we make sure to be transparent about this on our product page so customers know what to expect. This method of manufacture also makes the most use of the timber, helping to ensure a more sustainable product overall. As you noted, once oiled, these areas blend in seamlessly.

We’re also sorry to hear that the worktop didn’t arrive in the condition you expected. While around 98% of our items are delivered correctly the first time, there is always a small margin for error.
